Experience the Smokies in a new way. Our three-night fly fishing package is great for learners and experienced fishermen. This flexible package lets you fish on one or two days for either one or two persons. The professional guide service we use can challenge the most seasoned fly fisherman to have a trip to remember or turn a beginner into a lifelong fly fishing enthusiast. Fishing equipment, wading boots, lunch and licenses are included. Let us know your requirements and we will put a package together designed just for you.

Ring in the arrival of 2013 at Buckhorn Inn with our three-day celebration. Gather for wine and hors d'oeuvre before a delectable four-course dinner on December 30. Afterwards, guests are invited to join in some friendly games with a New Year's twist. Delight in our black-and-white themed New Year's Eve Evening. Guests are invited to dress in these great colors if they wish – tiaras will be provided! Dinner will begin with complimentary champagne served at your table, followed by four fabulous courses, each prepared and introduced by Chef Frank Downs. Prizes for best black-and-white costumes will be awarded. Live music will be performed throughout dinner and until 11:00 pm for dancing or just tapping along. For guests who prefer to retire to their rooms early, we call the new year at 11:00, but we will have a television in the Sitting Room for our guests who want to watch the Time Square Ball Drop at midnight. Join a leader-led hike in the beautiful national park on the following morning and our four-course dinner that night.

The Package includes all special activities, accommodation on three nights, full breakfast on three mornings, and four-course dinner on three nights. The package for two people in a traditional room is $695 and in a cottage or premier $795.

For many Buckhorn Regulars, Thanksgiving is a traditional favorite. The weather is apt to crisp and cool and you can expect a roaring fire to welcome you. The skies tend to be clear and with the trees undressed, the views just go on forever. Our Famous Traditional Thanksgiving Buffet is always a big draw with lots of everyone’s favorite dishes on offer. There is a three-night minimum and regular rates apply.

This annual retreat is usually held on the last weekend in February or the first week in March. Through the path of mindfulness, present moment, non-judgmental awareness, participants will experience the formal practices of sitting, walking and eating meditation and the body scan as well as informal meditation practices such as yoga and Tai Ji Qigong. This is an intense, focused retreat which will be in silence for the most part, although there will be periods for group discussion and teacher-led interviews. An introductory mindfulness meditation retreat day for those with little or no previous meditation experience will begin on Thursday evening.

Package Price: The per person cost (sharing) of $220 includes the retreat, two nights’ accommodation, two breakfasts, two dinners, and one lunch. Participants with little or no meditation experience attend for three nights, beginning on Thursday. There is an additional fee of $120 for these participants which includes the additional night’s accommodation, breakfast, dinner and lunch.
